Julia and Steve have been together for about 6 years now– they went to the same high school in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Steve was friends with Julia’s sister, who made the connection. The rest is history!
When Julia first found my photography, she described my photos as exactly what she was looking for – she loves black and white photos, and really loved the rich colors in my work, as opposed to a lot of wedding photos out there that are one of two extremes – really light and airy or dark and moody.
Julia and Steve’s elegant black-tie wedding will take place this February and I’m so excited to be a part of their day with an amazing team of vendors!
Halifax Public Gardens Engagement Photos
We started this engagement shoot at the Halifax Public Gardens, which was looking extra beautiful in the spring! The daffodils were starting to bloom, trees were budding leaves, and the sun was shining.
Julia wore a short white dress with puff sleeves which was giving carefree, springtime vibes, and paired perfectly with Steve’s chinos and navy button-up. Julia’s teardrop engagement ring from Touch of Gold Fine Jewellery was glistening in the sunlight!
Modern Engagement Photos in Halifax Parking Garage
For the second half of the photo shoot, Julia and Steve wanted a more modern and urban feel, so we ventured to an empty parking garage by the waterfront.
The sun was at the perfect point in the sky to create some dramatic shadows, providing a great photo backdrop. Julia changed into black jeans and a white linen blazer, which was such a great look for the location!
To end the session, we strolled around some nearby streets and took photos by some of Halifax’s beautiful old buildings.
