Summer Elopement at Trout Point Lodge Luxury Wilderness Resort

Due to the pandemic, Vicky and Steve had to postpone their big wedding celebration (which I will also be photographing!) but they still really wanted to get married! They chose to secretly elope at the luxurious Trout Point Lodge — a wilderness resort in East Kemptville, Nova Scotia.

When Vicky asked if I’d be willing to come to Trout Point to shoot their elopement, my answer was a resounding yes!

As I pulled down the long, winding driveway to Trout Point Lodge, I knew it was going to be something special. It felt like a wonderful retreat away from the world, nestled in the wilderness.

When I arrived, Vicky and Steve were walking back to the lodge from a morning spent in the riverside hot tub, wearing matching white bath robes, wine glasses in hand. Talk about the epitome of relaxation!

As they began to get ready for their day, I walked around the property scouting portrait locations and photographing the stunning scenery as well as the wedding day details.

The lodge is intimate and cozy, filled with so many unique amenities, and it’s even dog-friendly, so Vicky and Steve’s duck toller Lenny could be there, too!

Now for the ceremony! Vicky & Steve chose to tie the knot with a gorgeous backdrop of water and lush green trees. Steve waited (with Lenny at his side) as Vicky made her way down the long wooded path towards them. I feel so honored to have been a part of these special moments!
