The idea for Yours, By E. stemmed from when Ellen, the founder and owner of the shop, got married in 2019. She saw that Halifax was lacking a full-service wedding dress boutique and decided to open one herself!

After talking to several of the designers the shop now carries, she was well on her way to starting the business, along with her mom, Tracey. They opened their stunning shop on Granville Street in November 2020. They would be thrilled to help you find a dress that’s yours!

Yours, By E. is a private, one-on-one bridal boutique. Meaning you’ll make an appointment and be the only clients in the shop at that time. This experience is really important to the Yours, By E. team – they want to make sure special attention is paid to you and your guests!

They carry designers that are exclusive to our region, meaning you won’t find the same gowns/designers east of Toronto anywhere else besides Yours, By E. They also have an amazing alterations specialist, Jennie, who works with their clients once their gowns arrive.

Sample dresses in store are from sizes 6-20, and dresses can be ordered in sizes 00-26.

Price Range:
Dresses range from $2,300-8,000 CAD. Most gowns sit between $2,400-4,000.

Tilted Veil East opened its doors July 31, 2021. Hollie, the owner, is originally from Cape Breton and has been living in Halifax for the last 23 years!

Hollie was working in Human Resources for 16 years, and decided it was time to start a new chapter in her life. Hollie’s twin sister, Heather, owns Tilted Veil in Guelph, Ontario. She asked Hollie to go into business with her and the rest is history!

Located in the heart of the North End of Halifax, the boutique is nestled away in a heritage building on Cornwallis Street that offers that Halifax charm.

At Tilted Veil East, you’ll experience private one-on-one bridal appointments. The designers they carry are exclusive to their boutique so you won’t find them elsewhere in the Maritimes. Many of the designers Hollie has brought in are highly requested by brides!

Chester & Felicity opened its doors in 2012 as a marriage of two long-standing bridal boutiques in Halifax. Together, they hoped to offer brides exclusive styles and a chic bridal experience.

The shop’s general manager, Erin, shared this piece of advice to future brides:

“Who you bring with you is very important to think about. You need to bring those who are supportive and positive, people who are there for you. They need to remember it’s the bride’s day and it’s about her style and vibe – not their personal style!”

Right next to Chester & Felicity in the Doyle Building, you’ll find Alter Ego Tailoring, where you can get your alterations done by Daniel, who does the alterations for many Chester & Felicity brides!
