Sarah Callow Fisher, the talent that is A Beautiful Wild, is not only an amazing floral designer, but also a flower farmer! She grows lots of stunning flowers on a three-acre plot in Aylesford.

Sarah is passionate about using locally-grown, seasonal flowers as much as possible in her designs. I love her unique way of combining lots of different colors and textures, all with a local flair!

Laura Englehutt named her business Crocus Designs after the Prairie Crocus, the provincial flower of Manitoba where she’s originally from. She started working with flowers in her university years, started her own business in 2015, and has been enjoying wedding and event floral design ever since! Laura absolutely loves helping relieve stress from her wedding clients and achieve their vision beautifully.

Lunenburg, NS

fleurandgather.com | @fleurandgather

Fleur & Gather is a garden-based floral design studio that features local and wild flora in all of their designs. Mia, the owner, grows a curated collection of heirloom and specialty flowers in her seaside gardens, and loves to forage for wild ingredients for arrangements that are lush, airy, and romantic. With a focus on field-to-vase floristry and sustainable floristry practices, Mia loves an elegant, ‘garden-gathered’ aesthetic that looks vibrant and natural in our Maritime landscapes!

Lisa Telling, the owner of Flourish Floral Designs, is passionate about wedding floral design, and even more passionate about marriage. She’s been in the floral industry for over 10 years in several locations around the world, and now focuses on full service weddings from her home studio where she lives with her husband and kids.

She loves thinking outside the box and creating designs that won’t look like everything else out there. I love Lisa’s artistic vision and how she’s always excited to do something a little different whenever she can!

Little Thistle Floral Design
Halifax, NS

littlethistle.ca | @littlethistle

Jessie Chacon got started in the floral industry in Ottawa, as an apprentice for the well-known flower shop Mood Moss Flowers. She moved to Nova Scotia and started Little Thistle in 2018, and now designs from her home studio in Halifax, often accompanied by her English bulldog, Louie.

Her florals are natural and romantic, often with a modern take. I absolutely love Jessie’s use of different colors and textures together, and the installations she creates!

Props Floral Design
Halifax, NS

propsfloraldesign.com | @propsfloral

Props Floral Design has been a core part of Halifax’s floral industry since 1997 when it first opened on Granville Street. The shop is now located in the Hydrostone at 5533 Young Street, and is run by co-owners Jayme Melrose and Ashley MacNeill (her aunts were the original owners).

Props comes to weddings with so much experience in the floral world – but they still always have a fresh approach. They focus on using local, seasonal flowers and greenery in their creative, spontaneous designs.

The Props Floral shop not only showcases beautiful flowers but a lovely variety of candles, flower pots, vases, and houseplants. The shop is beautiful, almost always busy, and a fun spot to peruse any day!

Trinity’s Florals
North Sydney, NS

trinitysflorals.com | @trinitysflorals

Trinity Ings is a fourth-generation florist – that’s not something you hear every day! She practically grew up in her family’s flower shop. She started her own business, Trinity’s Florals, over 11 years ago. She is based in North Sydney, and serves all of Cape Breton Island and beyond.

I love Trinity’s use of local ferns, leaves and other natural elements alongside beautiful blooms – she really knows how to show off the beauty of Nova Scotia through her floral designs!

Twig and Twine Floristry
Halifax, NS

twigandtwine.ca | @twigandtwinefloristry

Danielle Ledaire has been working with flowers since she was 16 in an after-school job at a flower shop. She now designs florals as Twig and Twine Floristry from her backyard studio, built by her husband and her dad. She’s also started to grow flowers on her property in the last couple of years and is incorporating her own flowers into her work when she can!

Danielle’s work is feminine, artistic, and just so lovely. She is amazing at executing her client’s personal vision and making sure their weddings truly feel like them.
