You just got engaged in December — congrats! You live in Toronto together, but since Julia’s from Nova Scotia, you’re planning your wedding in Halifax — it will take place at The Lord Nelson Hotel on September 24, 2022.
You chose The Lord Nelson because it’s beautiful and will be a convenient option for your guests, many of whom will be traveling to Halifax for the wedding weekend. You want to give your 150 guests a wonderful experience and enjoy spending time with them!
As far as colors/decor, you’re planning to have Laura of Crocus Designs do the floral design for your day, with a focus on greenery and neutrals — simple but elegant, showing off the beauty of the hotel.
You’ve been looking for a photographer with more of a bright, true-to-color style as opposed to moody, dark photos. You really love photos that are natural, candid, and real— no overly staged or “passionate” couple photos! You really want to come away from the day with a few great classic portraits of you, your families, and the meaningful moments throughout the wedding day. You’re looking for a photographer who can direct and “shepherd” you throughout the day, guiding you to the best lighting, and helping you look and feel your best in front of the camera.
